BACKGROUND

Courtney Kanfer Israely is a certified Speech Language Pathologist with over 20 years of experience working with infants, toddlers, school aged children and adolescents.  She is licensed to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey. Courtney is passionate about helping children communicate and reach their maximum potential. She strongly believes that early intervention is the key to success. Courtney develops strong rapports with her clients and their families and practices within a multidisciplinary approach.

 

Courtney has worked in various schools, hospitals and has provided home-based therapy, as well as being skilled in teletherapy.  This has enabled her to gain valuable experience with various communication disorders and expand her range of expertise.  In addition to her clinical work, Courtney has provided lectures to pediatricians at New York Presbyterian Hospital on the ‘red flags’ to look for when determining if a patient should be referred to a speech language pathologist as well as to local schools on topics ranging from bilingualism and second language acquisition.  She has also developed a speech and language screening protocol that was instituted in preschools in New York City aimed at identifying children at risk.
